Jet & Keel exists to help you make one expensive decision well. This page explains exactly how we work, what we verify, and how we get paid — so you can judge our advice on its merits.
What we verify, and when
Every recommendation on this site carries a “What we verified” box with a date. Before we recommend anything we check the merchant’s current pricing, shipping and returns terms, warranty coverage, and the operational details that matter before you sign: operator certificates, insurance, APA handling, and cancellation tiers. We re-verify those claims when we update a page, and the date in the box tells you when that last happened. If we could not verify a claim on the merchant’s own site, we do not print it.
What we don’t do
We don’t accept payment for rankings, and no partner sees or approves our verdicts before publication. We don’t claim hands-on lab testing we haven’t done: our reviews are research-driven — built from manufacturer documentation, published specifications, and aggregated buyer feedback — and we say so plainly rather than inventing test benches.
How the verdict badges work
Comparison tables award at most one badge per product, computed from the same scoring data we publish on the cards: “Best Overall” goes to the highest combined score, “Best Value” to the strongest price-to-capability ratio, "Fastest Quote" to the shortest path from request to bookable option. The rules are deterministic — the same data always produces the same badges.
How we make money
Jet & Keel earns affiliate commissions from some partner links at no extra cost to travelers. Commissions never change a price you pay, and they never change a ranking: badges are computed before any affiliate link is attached. When a product we rate highly has no affiliate program, we still recommend it.
Who writes this
